Surely you want to know the process of selecting students who deserve Gates Cambridge scholarships. The process of selecting awardees consists of three stages:

  1. The assessment board

The assessment board gets a score and nominations that meet the requirements of each faculty. For those who get nominations (usually only a small portion of the number of registrants) will be further considered through the academic achievements of all registrants in that year and also proven to meet the desired character standards set by Gates Cambridge.

  1. The assessment board

The assessment board will make a short list of the previous list of scholarship nominations and group them according to their field of study. This list is then sent to the Shortlisting Committees to analyze the results of the written motivation letter to the letter of recommendation included when registering. Using Gates Cambridge’s standard criteria guidelines, they will identify who is fit to enter the next stage, namely interviews.

  1. Final interview

The third and final stage is the interview. The interview stage is probably the most competitive stage because the people entering this stage have already gone through the preliminary stages.

All shortlisted candidates will be interviewed and judged in terms of the ideal criteria set by Gates Cambridge.

  1. Gates Cambridge scholarship program

If you plan to enroll in the Gates Cambridge scholarship program, there are a number of things that you must prepare such as a written statement of a maximum of 500 words about the reason why you are the person who deserves the Gates Cambridge scholarship.

Written statement by Gates Cambridge

Through this written statement, you as a candidate can show your capacity to lead and commit to improve the lives of many people. Part of this registration is where the assessment board will look at the candidate’s background, achievements, experience, and future plans if they fit into the Gates Cambridge scholarship program.

Non-academic Reference

In addition to the written statement, you must also choose a non-academic reference to support your statement. You can choose your colleagues or superiors at work who can give a statement why you deserve a Gates Cambridge scholarship.
